WardAir is set on an ideal location at Bathurst Airport. Bathurst Airport is a Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF), which is a non-control zone. This allows our students not to feel intimidated in the initial stages of learning to fly. Within 30 minutes flight time we have one of Australia's busiest primary control zones. This is accessible when our students are at more advanced levels of training.
Bathurst is a large regional centre close to Sydney and easily accessible by air, rail or road. The town itself is large enough to provide cultural activities and services to the population of 40,000 residents. It has a University (Charles Sturt University) and four private schools all catering for students from overseas. Bathurst is a small, safe, friendly community that enjoys being host to many overseas students.
Bathurst has very few days when weather is not suitable to fly. Customers have the ability to fly either east or west, unlike other cities where weather can inhibit flying for days at a time. Temperatures average 25º C in Summer and 15ºC in Winter.
Accommodation is readily available in Bathurst. Prices range from $90 per week for a fully furnished/shared accommodation.
