Day 2 - White Cliffs - Tilpa
Depart White Cliffs for Tilpa.Call the Tipla Hotel before you go to get prior permission to use the strip, and get someone to do a "roo" run for you and pick you up for lunch at the pub. Tilpa Hotel phone number: 02 68 373 928. The runway at Tilpa is out 10 degrees and even though documents (NSW Country Airstrip Guide) says RWY 26 is actually painted on the strip as being 27 -work that one out!
You can't go to Tilpa Pub without experiencing the Bushmans Platter which consists of a steak the size of your plate, sausages, bacon and egg and for garnish- pineapple, tomato, onion. All for $20. And of course checking out all the names written on the wall - for someone you may know.
