Day one - YBTH-YSTW-YKEP-YBAA-YTFD

Had to fly low level to Tamworth because of the cloud, make sure that you look at your lowest safe altitude and look off the map at which areas are lower to fly over. Tamworth is a class D airspace, which is controlled and you have to get permisson to enter. You also have to squak 3000 on your transponder. We arrived via the Duri Gap which is hard to pick up because you will be down low to avoid the control zone. Look for the gap between the ranges and use the VOR (116.0) to orientate yourself. Clearance is required before you get to the gap. Put your landing and nav lights on at Duri Gap to aid the tower to identify you. They do not have radar coverage so have to visually find where you are for traffic separation. The ground frequency (121.9) was very helpful and will give you taxi guidence if you request it.

We departed through Gate West and due to Holly's pleasant radio voice again tower was very helpful with directions on the correct procedure to leave. There are two sets of power lines that you fly between that are easy to pick up that will get you clear of the control area.
