Arrive Strahan via Cradle Mountain for a scenic flight.
Allegedly Cradle Mountain area is VMC for 7 days out of 365. If it is VMC, then go for it. Spectacular rugged terrain seen best by air! Recommend you read the Fly Neighbourly (FN7) procedures for this area, found in the back of your ERSA, to avoid upsetting the 'walkers'.
Try and operate not below 4000ft AMSL terrain permitting. Better still, ask one of the local operators what the procedures are.
No Fuel at Strahan and you need tie downs (as always). Taxi into the Motel is about $14.
Check in at the Gordon Gateway located on the point approximately 2km from town. This is an enjoyable walk. Great rooms (studios) and views. This motel offer BBQ packs which are well priced and well presented if you do not feel up to going back into the town.
