Parkes is an easy flight from Bathurst only taking 45 minutes. It has two long runways in good condition. Your track takes you over Orange and Cudal so you have some good landmarks to navigate and stay on track by. The aerodrome has an NDB (242) and VOR (112.0). There is a restricted area R525, which surrounds 'The Dish' and extends from the surface to 5000 ft so if you want to see it make sue that you climb to 5000ft first or give it a wide berth.
